Chicken Ghost Road operates on a vertical lane recognition engine where falling orbs must be tapped exactly when they align with the bottom hit zone. The game tracks your timing precision in milliseconds, calculating an accuracy percentage that determines your final score multiplier.
Each of the three available sets – Barn Lights, Hay Loft Pulse, and Midnight Coop – runs at different BPM ranges from 142 to 168, controlled by fictional DJ characters. The difficulty scaling is indicated by dot count: one dot for beginner tempo, two for intermediate syncopation, and three for advanced polyrhythmic patterns.
Your performance is measured through two simultaneous metrics: raw score accumulation from successful taps, and accuracy percentage based on timing deviation. The combo system multiplies points when you maintain consecutive perfect hits within the visual glow threshold of each descending target object.
